About the Series
Mapping Our World introduces students to maps and teaches essential mapping skills.
The series explores the major landforms, along with the sky and cities, to explain how to use and interpret maps and why maps are important. Each book features an opening spread that identifies the features on a map—including the scale, key, compass rose, and lines of latitude and longitude—and how to use them.

These highly visual books include a variety of maps, from topographical maps to road maps to nautical charts. Each book also features specific examples of how a map was made or used, as well as activities to reinforce the information given in the text.
