About the Series

The first step on the road to literacy has been successfully taken in our emergent readers, and now it is time to move on. Guess Who reinforces skills acquired in our emergent readers and then playfully lures early readers to the next level of proficiency. Appealing to their natural curiosity, it asks children to decipher clues about a particular animal's physical characteristics, behavior, and habitat, and then challenges them to identify the animal in question. Though the text remains simple and strongly supported by images, vocabulary has become a bit more complex, sentences are longer, punctuation is more diverse, and repetition is less common. Without the student even being aware of it, learning to read has become even more of a rewarding adventure!
